1.  Open Stone Put
 
     A.  Throw from within throwing area.
     B.  Your body may break the plane of the trig or a side marker but you cannot land
           outside the area or touch any part of the trig but its inner face.
     C.  The stone must be held against the neck during approach to trig and is allowed
           to separate during release.  Only one arm holds and throws the 16 lb stone.
     D.  Distance of throw is measured from the center point of the trig's inner face
     E.  Three attempts allowed, with best distance scored.
     F.  Tie break is based on composite score of all trys.
 
2.  Stone for Height
 
     A.  The 42 lb stone is thrown two-handed over a high bar.
     B.  Any two-handed technique may be used to throw the stone.  The thrower may
          jump as part of the throwing motion, but may not run as part of the technique.
     C.  Two attempts allowed at each height.  Height of bar is raised successively by three
           inch increments.
     D.  Contestant may waive attempt at any height.
     E.  Tie break is fewest total misses.
 
3.  Sheaf toss
 
     A.  The 17 lb sheaf is thrown over a high bar with a four-tined pitchfork.
     B.  The throwing stance begins with the thrower's back to the high bar.
     C.  The thrower must hold on to the pitchfork throughout the throw.
     D.  Any release that breaks the plane of the high bar system is counted as a throw.
     E.  Two attempts are allowed at each height.  Height of bar is changed by six inches
          successively.
     F.  Contestant may waive attempt at any height.
     G.  Tie break is fewest total misses.
 
4.  Caber toss
 
     A.  The 75 lb caber is thrown from the thin end.
     B.  A toss is valid when the thick end hits the ground first and the thin end follows.
     C.  If after raising the caber, balance of the caber is lost and it falls before the throw is
          attempted, this is counted as a try.
     D.  Each contestant is allowed four trys.  Score is based on best throw.
     E.  Tie break is based on composite score of all trys.
