2011 McCullough Scottish Games
This year we will hold the Games on the first Saturday in October, October 1, 2011.
Events will be according to NASGA rules, appropriate weights will be used for the competition classes Masters and Lightweight (men under 190 lbs). All competitors must acquaint themselves with the rules.
The Games this year are posted with NASGA and results will be recorded to the NASGA database. Link to the NASGA calendar here.
Games will begin with first event at 1:00 PM. Order of events: Sheaf toss, Weight for height, Open Stone, Light weight for distance, Light hammer, caber. Weights per event are appropriate to class. For sheaf we will be throwing 16 pounds and the pitchfork is new, 3-tine instead of 4. Scoring will be completed before we proceed to next event. Caber will be different from prior years ... heavier.
Competitors please check in by 12:45 PM. You are welcome to arrive early to practice.
Parking on our property can accomodate eight vehicles. Another seven can be parked next door. Our drive will be blocked after 12:40 PM. Parking on Mercer Drive is available but we ask you park along the rightside curb pointing away from Moores Road.
Caution to parents: Moores Road is posted at 30 mph but traffic usually exceed. Keep children from the road. We want your day with us to be fun and safe.
